1981 Jeep CJ8 scrambler. It's a wheeler, but has good street manners. Just took it on its third King of the Offroad Event.  (Ultimate/Unreal adventure style event on which its always done well!) TBI 350 with a freshly rebuilt TH350 mated to a twin stick Dana 300. Driver drop dana 60 front with a 14 bolt rear. Front has an ARB air locker, chromoly 35 spline outers and 35 spline lockouts.  Rear is a Detroit, both have 4.56 gears.  Rear is disc brakes as well.  Hydro assist steering.  Has on board air via a York compressor. On rubicon express extreme duty spring over leafs. Jeep is pictured with a few parts it doesnt come with.  The warn 8274, racelines/nitto 40', spare wheel and tire with carrier, light bar/bracket/A pillar lights, and the tool box in the rear all dont come with the jeep, they are on loan from my other jeep. I have a set of 17" h2 wheels and 39" BFG red labels that will come on it. Jeep does well. $13,900 located in Fairland Oklahoma.

Vehicle is painted in Jeep Hydro blue. 
The bed, floorboards and exterior underneath are painted with a Herculiner color of Hydro blue. 
Super Swampers 33 x 15.50, elite 15-inch rims. Lift system is a Rubicon 4 lift with Ranchero shocks front steering stabilizer shocks. 
Both front and rear bumpers are custom, rear bumper has a tire carrier with Jerry gas can carrier for two. Comes with one can. Front bumper has a 9,500 pound steel cable Warn winch. 
The rear ends are a Dana 30 & an AMC 20. Both rear ends have one piece Atlas axles with 4.10 gears. 
Transmission is a 900 Chrysler three speed automatic. Transfer case Dana 300 twin stick. 
The engine is a 1974 AMC 360 V8, board 30 over, Edelbrock 650 4-barrel throttle body. Has an Edelbrock mild Cam with mild intake, Hooker headers, dual  battery system w/yellow top batteries. 
On-board air 3.5 gallon tank with horn blaster train horns twins. Interior high back seats.
BNM shift kit.

Selling my 1982 Jeep Scrambler CJ-8 (Laredo).  Very original Jeep in factory 1H - Chestnut Metallic Brown.

It has the original 258 cu. in. inline 6, 3-speed automatic, factory A/C, power steering and power brakes.  It runs and drives well and is a very solid, rust-free Jeep.

The seats, console and radio have been replaced, but otherwise it is largely original.  I also have a small assortment of original/replaced parts that go with it. 

It also has the dealer-installed "bed-box".

Clear title in hand.

This is not a heavily modified trail Jeep or a rust project.  It is a SOLID, mostly original Scrambler that would be great to drive as-is, preserve, or restore cosmetically over time.

1986 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler. 258 inline 6-cylinder engine paired with a T-5 manual transmission. It is equipped with power steering, manual brakes, and 33 x
12.50 Mickey Thompson tires on Mickey Thompson wheels, exterior includes a gold hardtop, a rear safari roll bar, and a rear Bestop bench seat with seat belts. The interior is outfitted with tan Bestop seats and a tilt steering wheel. New parts include a new Weber carburetor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and distributor. Recently replaced valve cover and gasket, all the hoses and belts. It also has a new clutch master and slave cylinder along with new shocks.

1982 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler

Life is pulling me in different directions and Ive decided to sell my 84 Scrambler. I've owned this jeep since 2019. I purchased it from an active duty Navy sailor who bought it in California, shipped it to Oaho, Hawaii, then shipped it to Virginia Beach when he was restationed in 2018. When purchased, it was not in the best of conditions... the engine was in need of an overhaul, it had manual brakes and to be honest, was a terror to drive. I swapped in a Dana 44 rear built by East Coast Gear Supply in 2020 and slapped a pair of 35's on it. My friend and former fabricator for Hendrick Motorsports and owner of Deerfield Fabrication, built the rear spare tire carrier and the roll cage. The cage was built off of a GenRight LJ cage design and Brian was able to bend and weld the cage together, as he would for Nascar teams. In 2023 I purchased the current set of axles that are under it and brought it to its current condition. Once adding the PSC hydro assist steering, as well as the other upgrades, I can drive it down the highway at 70mph and steer it with 1 finger. It has 0 wonder when driving and is an all-around pleasure to drive either to work, going to get ice cream or on the trails. 

Also for sale to go along with my Jeep is an 18ft Hurst Equipment Trailer. Trailer dimensions are 18'x83". The GVWR is 12,000lbs. The trailer has brand new tires and wheels with less than 500 miles. The axles and bearings are serviced yearly, most recently in May 2026. The deck is in good condition and is coated with deckover to ward off excessive corrosion on the boards.

Selling my 1982 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler. This is a true project vehicle and a great candidate for someone looking to restore a classic CJ-8 or build a custom off-road Jeep.

Engine and transmission are intact, and the rear end has been rebuilt.

The Jeep is largely complete as a project, but it has been sitting and will need restoration/work before being road-ready. Body shows rust, wear and age as pictured. Im selling it in its current condition as-is.
